One-Day Delhi Sightseeing Trip by Cab
Starting from ₹3,000
Book This TripPlanning one-day Delhi sightseeing? Delhi has been a capital for Mughal emperors, the British Raj and modern India, and its monuments tell each chapter of that story. This full-day city tour links eight of them in a sensible order, so you spend your time sightseeing rather than sitting in traffic.
The day starts with the carvings of Akshardham, moves to the Red Fort in Old Delhi, then on to India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament House in central Delhi. After lunch you'll see the Lotus Temple and Humayun's Tomb, and finish at the Qutub Minar as the sun goes down.
Your driver picks you up from your home or hotel and drops you back in the evening. Parking, tolls and the driver's allowance are included. For one-day sightseeing in Delhi with a family or group, a private cab is usually the most comfortable and affordable way to see the city.
What to Expect on Your One-Day Delhi Sightseeing Tour
Pickup is at about 8:30 AM. Akshardham comes first while the crowds are thin — phones and cameras stay in the cab here, so it's a good moment to simply look around.
Mid-morning you'll be in Old Delhi at the Red Fort, then the driver takes you down the wide avenues of Lutyens' Delhi past India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament House. Lunch is a short stop in central Delhi — a chance to try parathas, chaat or a North Indian thali.
The afternoon is calmer, with the gardens of the Lotus Temple and Humayun's Tomb, before the day ends at the Qutub Minar in warm late light. You're back at your door by about 6:30 PM, depending on traffic.

Places Covered in One-Day Sightseeing in Delhi
1. Akshardham Temple
Opened in 2005 in honour of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, this vast complex is covered in intricate sandstone and marble carvings and has more than 20,000 statues. Entry is free; the exhibition halls and the evening water show are ticketed.
2. Red Fort
Shah Jahan's red-sandstone fort in Old Delhi was the heart of Mughal power for two centuries. Inside you can walk through the grand audience halls and visit museums on India's freedom struggle.
3. India Gate
This 42-metre arch honours Indian soldiers who died in the First World War, with more than 13,000 names carved into its stone. The lawns around it are a favourite family spot, and the memorial is lit up after sunset.
4. Rashtrapati Bhavan
The President's grand sandstone residence stands at the head of Kartavya Path. Tours of the building, museum and gardens run on set days and must be booked in advance, so on this tour you'll see it from outside.
5. Parliament House
The circular, colonnaded Parliament House is one of New Delhi's landmark buildings. Visitors can't go inside, but it makes a striking short stop on the way.
6. Lotus Temple
Shaped like a half-open lotus flower in white marble, this house of worship is open to people of every faith. Inside is a silent prayer hall; outside are calm gardens and pools.
7. Humayun's Tomb
Built in the 1560s for the Mughal emperor Humayun, this was India's first great garden tomb, and its design inspired the Taj Mahal decades later.
8. Qutub Minar
Begun in the late 12th century, this fluted sandstone tower rises about 73 metres above the Qutub complex. The late-afternoon light turns it a warm gold — a fine way to end the day.
